What should you engrave on mother and daughter necklaces?

Should both pieces be the same colour?

Not necessarily. Many mothers prefer silver while their daughters wear gold tone, and the set still matches through the design and the engraving. Choose silver for one and 14K gold-plated 925 silver for the other, as two separate pieces; we never mix gold-plated and silver parts within one piece.

Keep in mind that gold plating is a surface finish over hallmarked 925 silver and wears with use. Pendants and earrings keep their finish much longer than rings and bracelets, so a gold-plated necklace is the safer gold-tone choice than a gold-plated bracelet worn every day.

When is the right moment to give it?
